The new North Yorkshire Local Plan will guide future development and conservation in the area until 2045. This plan covers North Yorkshire, excluding the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Parks, and outlines our priorities for land use and development.
Following the creation of North Yorkshire Council in April 2023, we have a duty to prepare and adopt a local plan for the area. When adopted, this will replace the existing local plans.
This is where you can have your say as we draw up the North Yorkshire Local Plan and other planning policy.
We would like as many people, groups and other interested organisations to get involved in shaping the future of North Yorkshire. Having your say on the local plan is an excellent way to become involved.
