River Aire Project
Much of the parish council’s attention is currently focused on the issues along the banks of the River Aire in Gargrave, including
- The collapsed wall at the Northern Power Grid substation
- Overturned stepping stones
- Collapsed gabions and the loss of a tree along Mill Lane
- Erosion that has potential to undermine the ford near the bridge
The Parish council commissioned a scoping report by JBA in order to clarify the issues and to identify the hydrological process along this stretch of water. Following this, the parish council set up a working group to focus on these issues. This group will meet regularly to formulate a plan in order to move these issues forward to a resolution and to raise funds for the work.
Updates will be added to this page when available.
